India's Test Woes

In a country where all students fear cycle test, midterm, semester, viva, thesis, and 100 more, asking laxman (with a potbelly) to play test cricket is ridiculous. While everyone can have their opinions about what can the BCCI,selectors, team management do (who cares even the likes of Arun Lal, Nikil chopra and Vinod Kambli criticize Indian team's poor show), It would be a grave mistake on my part if i don't give my suggestions.

1.BCCI should another test series with Australia in India. Call it the revenge series (Give some name Agneepath, Dewar,etc). India will thrash Aussies outright. Now media can claim moral victory. (This is vadivelu's strategy in Nagaram movie)

2. Clause a)Make Kenya and Zimbabwe test playing nations and play back to back home and away matches.
Clause b) Organize back to back test series against Sri Lanka. India Tour of Srilanka. Srilanka tour of India. (3 test matches and 5 ODis each) on Sub continent Wickets. And we can claim no.1 spot.

3. BCCI should use its money power to bully ICC and declare bowling bouncers to Indian batsman as offense. Grade 1 offense (like Virat's Middle finger). Repeated offenses can lead to suspension and possible ban.

4. If nothing works out, play racism card against South Africa, England, Australia, New Zealand. Tell them you won't tour as racial abuse in demeaning and demotivating. You can win matches in other countries.

5. Last but not the least. Hire our Minister Kapil Sibal as Troubleshooter for current test debacle. He'll claim there was no 4-0 loss in test series in Australia and England. The players followed the 1955 team strategy, a policy framed by his predecessors. No loss policy like in 2G case.

PS:I hope Sibal doesn't censor my blog. All points have been suggested with a lighter vein. Even if it doesn't evoke laughter, try laughing at mokka jokes. Good for health.

There's a Chinese saying," Give a man a fish and you feed him for a day. Teach a man to fish and you feed him for a lifetime" TN politicians are busy blaming each other and outsmarting others with their manifestos. I found this cartoon appropriate, inspired from the candy ad.

Both the parties are trying to give free mixies, grinders, gas cylinders, rice. Instead they can start a Govt Mess and give free food for all Ration Card holders. Linux laptop it seems. Dont know when they started giving Linux computers. For sure Vijaykant will ensure TASMAC (govt job) a 24 hour center. Even his next movie is titled Murasu Potterum Old Monk Quarterum.

This election crucial in a way, it comes to individual constituencies and local problems rather than problems of the state. The 2G's (Rahulji and Soniaji) impact or Vijaykant or Vijay impact, all are expected to be a bussss. The margin of gap between parties is decreasing as Election Day comes near.

Tomorrow i'm thinking of starting a ABCDMK. We can think of ABCD expansion later. Though i'm in no way related to DK, ABCDMK should be a a dravida Kalagam. Who cares none of parties except DK and DMK are principle based parties. All other MKs are a mere money making machine. In fact, in future our children should be taught to become politicians, rather than doing lame Medicine, Engineering. They can settle down early in their life.

At least if you can’t change everything, at least try participating in the election by voting. The voting machines should have Options like in IIT-JEE. E-None of these Candidates are fit. With the economy of the state in a clumsy state, Karuna should come up with spells like AnnaViyumLeviosa with his yellow shall to give these freebies. After Almost 2 years in a corporate sector, a few of my fellow batch mates of 2009 batch are content with the work they do. There seems to be no correlation between what was taught at colleges and the work done!!. The work environment is not suited for individual needs. Some friends even quit their work to pursue their passions. 90% ppl write CAT exams, only fellow lucky ones get through.. Others might say, "Abeyaar.. one more yr".

I Got a nice apothegm from a close friend !!!For all those who are depressed with ur work, think a min or two abt this.

Most of us fall under the second category. After 20 years carefree life, when you start working day in day out, you'll definitely feel bored .

Chennai has more less retained the same team thereby saving money on uniforms. Smart. Well balanced team with each spot in the team having two players . Whistle podu !!!

Royal Challengers Banglore:

King of Good times, Mallya wanted to revamp his team and get some young guns on board. With Anil Kumble as mentor he’s heading in right direction. Young blood like Kohli, Pujara, S.Tiwary, Mithun with the international experience of AB Devilliers, Dishan, Nannes, Vettori (all Delhi previously). Zaheer Khan spearheads the bowling. They’ll definitely miss the services of Vinay kumar, Uthappa, Dravid, Kumble himself. It would be interesting to see the uncapped players they hire.

Team Kochi :

They had a pretty decent auction given that it’s their first outing. They have a formidable attack with Murali, R.P.Singh, Sreesanth. Vinay kumar, romesh Powar, Jadeja. Mahela, Laxman, Mccullum and Hodge will bring experience in their batting line up. Their batting looks really thing on paper and need to sign in top talents from uncapped Indian Pool. Half the time kochi wasted on talking to their other partners on phone.

Deccan chargers:

One more team looking thin on Indian Talent except Ojha, Dhawan, Ishant, Mishra and Gony. Indian contigent is without Rohit Sharma, Venugopal Rao, RP Singh; hence T.Suman, Monish Mishra might be signed from uncapped. Sanga, KP,Steyn, Duminy, White are all good deals. Interesting price paid for Daniel Christian(who’s he). Sanga/White looks to Captain the team. Boy this team needs to play at home, Paavam da. Good tat no one bid for their team owner !!

Kolkata knight Riders:

One team to have set the agenda clear from the start and leave the past experiences behind to make a difference in next season. Gauti, Yusuf(so much money) , Kallis, Shakib, Morgan, Brett Lee, Haddin all are real T20 match winners on their day. They have retained Tiwary, Unadkat(their discovery) and got Balaji. Still their bowling looks weak as injury prone Lee will lead the attack. At the end of the day, not bidding for Dada was a big call they had to make.

Delhi Daredevils:

What the hell are you doing with the money. They have lost all major players from their previous years. Team heavily relied on Sehwag , warner, Venugopal rao and Bowling on Umesh yadav, Dinda. How can one pay so much for Irfan Pathan(not even fit). Their Sangwans ,Rajat Bhatias, Mithun Manhas are all very much need for this star to perform atleast decently. Van Der Merwe and James Hopes are great match winners in their side. But still get think-tank ready. Bad outing.

Rajasthan Royals:

Warne’s team can definitely surprise everyone with the local talent and the amount of unknown players they sign in. Rahul Dravid and Pankaj singh will their mainstay at batting and Bowling. Ross Taylor, Watson, Tait and Collingwood are excellent T20 players. Botha was a bizarre buy. They need the services of Jhunjhunwalas, Asnodkars, Sid Trivedis.

Sahara Pune Warriors:

First time at IPL was not bad for these men. Very satisfactory performance. Yuvraj Singh and Uthappa are perfect T20 game changer, With seasoned pros Ashish Nehra and Murali Karthik . Ferguson, Mathews, N.Mccullum, Jesse Ryder are all pretty good buys at reasonable costs. Mitchell Marsh will play under his father Geoff Marsh(coach). Smith provides the fire at the top order. In all sense, Yuvi is likely to lead.

Mumbai Indians :

Batting Bolstered by the new signings of Rohit Sharma and Symmonds, with Davy Jacobs opening with Sachin and Pollard to finish things. Bowling Department will be heavily dependent on Bhajji and Malinga, with Munaf patel and Clint Mckay. The most interesting factor would be Bhajji-Symmonds combo of Maaki Monkey fight fame, will be playing in same jerseys. Man, I would have if Sreesanth was also there.

At the end of the day, when all the owners sit down for a small meeting, CSK owners can say"Malai da.. AnnaMalai"

A.R. Rahman's Layering and Experimentation

What will be your first reaction after listening to a Rahman sir song ?? You feel a major let down, You feel like why Rahman is doing all these kinds of stuff. You feel like, why is he not composing music like Roja, Dilse, Lagaan. ( The matter of fact is, There are already classic hits like Roja, Laagan, There's no point in giving us something similar to those albums.)

The second time you listen to a song, u slowly start humming the tune. Next time, few lyrics to it. Allow the music to run in loop, non stop. Now each and every time you find at least something new, minutest layer or an instrument playing in the background. You start wondering how many layers are added to lead. Now his music starts growing on you, exponentially. You start feeling that, how come this man keeps us flabbergasted with his music. Every single time.

One striking feature that differentiates a Rahman song or any other song is layering. Layering is a concept where different instruments play at different times. Take for example, songs like Anbae sugama of Parthalae paravasam. How brilliantly he uses violin and keyboard. Blissful. or take Chitti Dance Sequence in Endhiran. Every layer in the track sounds different. Each time you listen, there would be a small instrument in background along with the vocals. Also contributing to the fact is the quality of speakers or headphones you use. Not to say, the original cd music is always top class as compared to the downloaded pirated ones.(Be a music lover, not a music pirate)

Much of these credit should definitely be given to Late shri H.Sridhar, who has been a pillar of strength for Rahman sir. It's very difficult for anyone to fill in the shoes of Sridhar, which is evident from the sound quality of recent albums(with due credit to the albums). Post Oscar , thalaivar seems to be on an experimentation mode, with getting new genres, new voices, new instruments. If it was Blues in Vinnaithaandi Varuvaaya, funky African instruments in Raavan, Mass in Komram Puli, Major techno mode for Endhiran.(Per Se, treating each film on its own merit.)

I think the fans, as a whole will keep supporting his nouvelle experimentations in music, allow Rahman sir to explore new kinds of music and collaborate with new artists. For sure, we will like his experiments.

Too much of Forget n Forgive

This post is not going to bring justice to all those people who are suffering. Not all wrong doers are goin to read this article and renounce. The main issue with we Indians is that, we don't prioritize the goals.

Comparing what happened in Bhopal and Gulf of Mexico, USA is already in the fast forward mode in penalizing the British Petroleum and getting proportionate compensation. While in India, the Group of Ministers GOM has been formed, which will take ages to complete their report, Remember what happened to Liberhan Commission. Human Rights activists and Media want the extradition of octogenarian Warren Anderson and also want withering Arjun Singh to come out in open and brief the nation. Late Pick!!!(As Kounder Mani calls it, "Sangoothura Vayasula") What's the use in getting out people who gonna die in the next few years to India, are we gonna get back those lives. At least we can attempt to get compensation and the main work will be the distribution of these funds and rehabilitation of the victims.

We can just blame, the then government for all the atrocities. Since the judgment had come now, the media is taking up this issue, Special discussions with panelists, every editorial and Blogs wants justice. Now that Football world cup has began, Media will forget abt Bhopal and concentrate on Football for the next few days. Then come other issue will pop up, that will be under spotlight. No one will care about bhopal. Also our news thirsty citizens will forget what had happened in the previous generation. Just weeks before an Aircraft crashed, 150 people died, no one talks about fixing the responsibilities,or rehab for the families of the deceased.

Just because we are Indians, we tend to Forget n Forgive. There's been too much of forgetting than forgiving.An Unknown quote says, "If there one thing that's even more crucifying than death is that being forgotten!!" I can't help those victims. At least i can "Pray for u brother, Pray for u sister!!!"

Every Day has its day

Any management guru proclaims, “Each day is different from the other, start every day afresh!!!” Now there’s a trend to celebrate each day in a year for some reason or the other. I seriously don’t know who ratifies the celebration of each and every day. Earlier, I just knew three important days- republic day, Independence Day, Gandhi Jayanthi. First two days will have Leader’s message on Doordarshan (Hardly anyone watches it), flag hoisting, armed forces parades and closure of TASMAC (still u can bribe and get a quarter).

Then comes all these regional festivals and government, by default, declares holidays for every festival. India has festivals, equal to the total number of gods each religion has. We don’t realize the benefit of being in India, where countries like USA are majorly single religion. With the MNC into the Indian System, it’s always TGIF. Thanks to Bengalorean/South Delhi culture, Friday nights are reserved for Pubs and Discotheques and Saturday mornings for Hangover. By the time, we plan for the weekend, it’s almost over. The worst thing that can demoralize you is when your national holidays come on weekends.

Of late, every day is some special day. New Year, Valentine’s Day, children’s day (10 months after Valentine’s), Earth day, Green Day, Anti tobacco day, AIDS day. At least for these days, we can forgive people for celebrating, for there’s some purpose behind all the celebrations. Next comes the Father’s day, Mother’s day, Sister’s day, uncles’ day, and aunties’ day. Thank God, there’s no Maamiyar(mother in law) and MaatuPonnu(daughter in law) day, for sure there’s gonna be a fight on who comes first in the year.

There’s always a marketing brain to celebrate these days, the pocket of the common man gets plucked. Best wishes to the near and dear ones, hence Greeting Cards sales gets boosted. Telecom operators take away their share of money as SMS and phone calls (special rates for these special days). For Valentine’s Day, sales of roses pick up. There’s always Diwali season, Pongal season, New Year special sales.
The worst of all seasons is the Aadi(Mid June) month discount sales, where substandard products are sold along with quality goods at 50%-60% of the original base price. These shopowners definitely are here to hoodwink the buyers. If Aadi Sales were for clothes, Akshaya Thrithi is for Gold and Jewellery, even more expensive than clothes. Whether Lakshmi will grace your homes on purchasing gold or not, you are definitely helping the jewelers to fill their treasury. At the end of the day, everyone has a marketing strategy and every stakeholder knocks off Aam Aadmi’s purse.

Whatever it is, Live each day like you were born today and die tomorrow, and make it cherishable and memorable.

Nothing changes for me

I had failed to get any calls from IIMs in the CAT exam. But I was not dejected at all like my previous attempts. Already 3 years into her IT career, my professional life was stagnated. I was looking for a change, may be a MBA admit or a change of job (with a heavy remuneration). On the contrary, personal life was just blissful. Being a girl, parents and old retired uncles, aunties start their work of finding alliance for you. My match had already been finalized and engagement was over just a few weeks back. My Fiancé was a typical Mylapore boy peterring in ManHattan, Working for a MNC. First look at his photo, I knew there was an instant connect. Not sure if Bells rang , bulb glow, wind blew to signify this was the man.

One morning I got a Change. Things happen when you don’t expect them to happen. That morning, I was to attend an important team meeting. Everyone including all the senior heads were called for this town hall meeting. As usual I had got up late, skipped gym, got lengthy advices from mom about how a family girl should be. I thought,”What a bad start to the day!!!”. Rushing through the busy roads of Chennai on my bike (moped), “WTF... Every signal turns red”. Suddenly a small school girl had tried to cross and was stranded in the middle of the road. I tried a Zig zag to adjacent lane in order to avoid her. Unfortunately I’d failed to check the rear-view mirror. A MTC bus was traveling in the adjacent lane. Bus kissed moped’s back, I was thrown out of balance. I was lying on the road with my back resting, and the speeding bus had run over my leg already. Driver had manager to stop the bus. I was now under the bus.

My body felt numb, they pain was excruciating. Slowly everything went blank. I laid there unconscious, not knowing anything that happened for the new few days. Later my parents had explained all the events that had unfolded. My lower limb was totally crushed, blood circulation was hampered. Doctors gave an option of amputating my leg; otherwise it could be a serious risk to my life. Life took a new turn in just a matter of days. He had flown back to Chennai on hearing about the accident. I was discombobulated on how my life’s going to be with a single leg. How will my fiancé react to this? How are my in-laws going to react to this? Can I ask him to marry someone else, rather than marrying a crippled. Distressful questions haunted me; Sedatives gave rest to my body, but mind was definitely in a lot of unrest.

Next Morning he was there to see me. The first few words that he spoke, “Marriage date finalized,honeymoon place on ur call“.

I was flabbergasted.”But I’m like… “, even before I could complete my talk, his hands closed my mouth. “Nothing changes for me... You are the same to me.” As firm as a mountain, I felt like I’d not lost anything in life.

30 years ago, I started loving him. They say u can't measure love. Till date, my love has definitely multiplied manifolds. He had got an artificial leg for me, allowed me to pursue my passion, help me setup my dance school. I’m crippled, we are not… :)

Death of criticism

There are two kinds of people in this world. Those who have opinions and think that they are right. Then there are people who seek other's opinion before to evaluate the right and wrong. Of all junta in the world, our people who always believe that, "The hare that i caught had 3 legs".

Thanks to web 2.0 and news channels, everyone's gotta opinion and they air their opinions on these issues. Even those people who don't even have the slightest knowledge on the subject give their opinion. Its like T.Rajendar or Cab10 Vijaykanth expressing their opinion on six packs and fitness. Every movie that is being watched, and blogs and twitter are filled with each one's ratings on the movie. Even certain reviews are influenced by external factors leading to biased ratings.(Like the Age old Sun TV Top 10 movies.. Which is actually Sun pictures top 10 now).

With High speed internet and broadband, any movie or music can be downloaded free of cost, people are even watching Chinese,french and Italian movies as compared to conventional English movies. Hence even a slightest of plagiarisms are easily noticeable and publicized in blogs and websites. Even JK Rowling was on the similar lines of an inspiration another work. But after its successful stint at the box office, no one talked about it. "Let it be,wats wrong!!" was the attitude of the people.

Being a writer, there are just 8-9 genres where you can base your stories on. So, when you repeat a movie in the same genre, i can be cliched and boring. Just because VTV is a love story similar to a 500 days of summer(with central park bench scene), the plot and characterization have always been different. No writer ever likes to thrive other people's work. There is a lot of difference between a rip-off and an inspiration. Harris Jayaraj, Honey Musical wind Deva or copy cat Pritam have all been people who prefer having a xerox machine and duplicating it exactly. They are Kumbakonam Degree Copy Followers and truly live up to their membership.

Accusing Gautham Menon for ripping off from English movies would be too harsh on GM. Also off beat comments on GM being a Pseudo Mani Rathnam seems to venomous. Mani and Kamal's films are called Inspiration, while GM is being Rip-off. Wat Bullshit. Just because you have seen the original movie via the internet downloaded dvdrip, you can't go on making false comments. You like something new and refreshing, you should also like something on similar lines. Your criticism doesn't seem constructive and leading no where.

PS: Like it or hate it, personal choice. Don't comment(make irrelevant comments) unless you are an expert in that field. Don't try to convince others, that their favorite celebrity is vethu vaettu.

Kavithai:Marriage

This was an instant Kavithai for a team mate, while wishing her a fabulous married life. I wanted something different on the greeting card, hence out of nowhere this came up.

Most Pitiable - MP

It’s tough to be at the top job of this country, Paid on par with an IIM graduate, and even getting more Kimbalam(also called Mamool ..Rhyme with Samblam) .When people come into limelight in politics, they are 55+ and still head the Party’s Youth Wing. By the time they become MPs, they r in 60s and 70s. So at their age, doctors advice them to go for walking to keep themselves fit. As soon as they parliament begins some issue is discussed, they are reminded of what their doctors had advised them, hence walk out.

Like How Ultimate Star Ajithkumar keeps walking in all his movies to reduce his six sagging pack. With BP, sugar, Bypass surgeries already done, you are bound to expect them got for walking. All these Dharna, Hartals and Protests are a mere eyewash, to fool the citizens that they r really concerned about the people. At least these people attend sessions and come out. So of the celebrity actor turned politicians like Govinda needs to be reminded that he’s an MP and needs to attend Parliament. He should stop acting in Navarathna Oil Ads with Rambha and work for people.

Actually we should not blame politicians for all these issues. While the front benchers in parliament squawk and squeal, there are some MPs who prefer back benches. Before they attend 11:00AM session, they have a sumptuous brunch to fill their appetite. Also the mellifluous and soothing voice of the speaker and sometimes the sweet and soothing lullabies of the President Prathiba Paati make them lethargic and hence they sleep in.

I particularly feel for the politicians who make film stars as MPs. They ratify this move, on the pretext that they can have some Ghilphansi, Gilma and do Jalsa at parliament. They expected to see Artificial implants of Sakhi Rawant and Slender legs Peepika Dadukone( like in phir mile sur mera tumhara). But to their disappointment they end up seeing Attu Piece Aaya figures in MemaHalini and Paya Jradha.

They also find it difficult with to cope up with increasing no. of criminals, rowdies in the countries. Every kutti rowdy (they a part of ‘Nannum rowdy... Naanum Rowdy’ Family) just find their way up into Parliament by hitting Jalra(ching Chak) for their Party heads. Even after giving lot of VIP suitcases to become VIPs, their places cannot be taken for granted. Hence it’s highly difficult to be a MP and politician. Hence we, citizens of this country need to question them less. On the contrary, give them more sympathy,empathy,allopathy, homeopathy.

Two reasons for me to watch this movie, Gautam Menon and A.R Rahman. With Simbu as lead,i was skeptical about it. Gautam proves that Simbu is a very different person from what people think we are. This is not a post to recommend people to watch this movie, but an opinion. I liked the movie bcos, i realized that may be in 2 years, i would be karthik (simbhu). There was so much into that character i could associate to.

5 minutes into the movie, you dont talk of Simbu and Trisha, Its just karthik and Jessie all the way. The last time i like simbu performance was in Thotti Jaya. And Trisha as Jessie, stunning, gorgeous,ravishing. Mark my words, guys after watching the movie, will think about the style associated with each girl he meets. Trisha's character is a confused, perplexed, instinctive and how things have changed. Costumes and colours associated with the Protagonists were picture Perfect. I guess this a season of Self Kallai and Kindal . Simbu says "When people go to America for their love, i can go for the nearb Kerala". Ganesh who plays the simbu's cinematographer friend and his kallai dialogues were comical.

Every one who's in love should definitely ask, why should they love her of all the girls?? U can never find answer to that. Trisha makes us chant "Jessie,Jessie.."

Music from the Mozart of Madras, Rahman Sir. All 7 songs have a video in the movie and movie is a musical by all means. The BGMs and Soundtracks were Fitting, a long time( ATM,SOK,Sakkarakati) Rahman scores with his BGMs. I really liked the Hard Rock music that comes up in the Gaandu scenes. Movie has got a Gautam Menon stamp all over. Handling a simple story with too much of pheeelings, that transforms to the audience at the end of the movie. Gautam efficiently uses His Telugu Lead Naga Chaitanya and Samantha as actors in simbu film. The end of the movie was neat, not very emotional and leaves the audience to feel for the emotion. To handle an emotional story with too much of feelings, with maturity and deftness, and to make audience believe that his end is the right thing to do. and to move on. Simbu, Trisha,Gautam and Rahman definitely score with VTV. for once i'm a Simbu's fan in the movie.

Vinnaithaandi Varuvaaya is definitely a 500 days of Summer in chennai.

PS: If u hate this movie, Hate it.. your stand i can never question that. Never can u question my stance that i like the movie.

I'd completed My first onscreen Film appearance for a Friend's project at Film Institute. Just Dropped in to do one of the lead roles(there were only 2 character,both male) to enable him complete his project. So far,i'd been behind the scenes for the films and short films i make. I prefer directing and taking up Cinematography rather than acting.(Actual Reason is , "Its easy to comment on others acting"). No intro scenes, No Punch Dialogues, No Rape scenes, Infact no women.

Writer had briefed me about the story on some forest expedition and i play the role of a wildlife photographer, who's on a 4th day shoot for a tiger safari. Writer was bent on taking the movie in English language, so i'd to script the dialogues according to our convenience. We'd Live Sound recording,no Re Recording, so memorizing dialogues was even more difficult. Believe me, You can be a jabber or an orator, once they say, "Action", Its tough. Your mind searches for dialogues, Expressions, Modulations,tone, Posture, etc etc. Imagine me taking 13 takes for a dialogue which I'd written(I'd counted the no. of takes while I'd failed in delivering my dialogue).

Already earned a nickname of Joey Tribbiani of friends, from my office colleagues. No wonder these actors have buildup names like cab10, PuratchiThalapathi, Ilayathalapathi, Young Superstar. One thing i know, I'm pathetic at acting. Learn where all i need to work on to be an actor. At memory skills,Voice Tone and Modulation, Expression, try Single take of Lengthy dialogues, Body language. I'm Bad at it, Will grow with age and with the character i do.

Cause and Effect of Andhra Mess

Once when i was brunching at an Andhra Mess, i wondered why all these eatouts are named Mess. That too after some state region names like Chettinaad Mess, Andhra Mess. Now i find it very relevant, given that Andhra is in a Mess. The owner had foreseen this situation and named his eat-out as an indication to outside world. The argument draws an analogy wit some Nostradamus' predictions, as something happens and people relate it to some archaic text of Nostradamus. 9/11 happens and afterward people say Nostradamus had predicted this.Coming back to our Telegana-Andhra problem. Where did it all start?? Why small States??

It all started with Lalit Modi, IPL Chairman who made use of the shorter version of cricket, T20 to good extent to boost his Cricket Admin Career. It was a marriage of cricket wit Entertainment , as always marriage appears successful in the initial few years. Next comes in to-todo-do-to-todo-do-Docomo-Docomomo. Tata Docomo entered the mobile operator market wit a catchy tune and more importantly attractive ads. Their message of "Life can change in secs" reached far and wide. Hence per min rates became to small version of secs. Again small is doin the trick.

Next,come in the film heroines of current age. They believe that their span in the industry is inversely proportional to their costumes. They believe they are child at heart and wear childhood dresses,saving producer's money. Small dresses are successful. Finally, the India's best selling author, Chetan Bhagat had come up with his new book, 2 states. Now if at all new states are formed , he can claim royalty from the politicians for publicizing explicitly their cause.

Given all these factors, no wonder KCR decided to give a new dimension using all his external disturbances caused by Modi, Docomo,heroines(:P) and Chetan. Moreover presence of more states could enable the politicians resurrect their sagging careers and buy one IPL team each. They can say they have brought development in the state after having a team :P

5 months into Corporate Life, you feel that u've learnt a lot than your 12+4 years of education. you also get a feeling that you kinda do same monotonous work again and again. There are people who are content with the kinda work they do. Others look into different options to make money. For others who wanna succeed in life,what happens next???

Slowly Disappointment creeps in, develops into frustration,desperation, leads to depression. Whole life looks as if its in a chaos,sometimes u say to yourself,"I am a total failure, i've not done anything in life :( " . It is always in your hands to save your life, or to ruin it.But one does consider himself unlucky only in these testing times of your life ,"Why me GOD". No one realises they are lucky after they are provided wit an opportunity.

Once critical observation, i'd come across in my chitchat wit so many of my friends is that , Everyone has a dream of being successful,want themselves to earn a lotta money. But there is a belief that fame and success to be instant. Everyone reads stories about steve jobs , warren buffet, Narayana murthy and watch movies like Guru,Pursuit of Happiness. Every who writes or blogs cannot be a best seller like Chetan Bhagat. Belief that one single idea or spark in your brain can't make you attain success.

I feel like asking them one question. Having watched The Pursuit of Happiness movie, How Chris Gardner focussed, dedicated, goal oriented, hardworking was. Despite all odds in his failure, his postive attitude and optimistic approach had made him successful. Steve Jobs, the CEO of the century , wit so much fame now, was even thrown outta his own company. He'd almost met death due to his cancer. But still every product from apple.inc stuns the world. Fellow mates seem to miss the key factor of hard work in achieving fame. When you believe,after giving 100%,u have met failure, then give 200% percent next time. Understanding success is significant. Fame is just a byproduct of success, with hardwork in input.

No more seromonising, Dont think of fame now, put in 200% efforts in achieving ur goal, may be u'll achieve it in 5 months or even 20 years. That doesnt mean u have failed. Failure is just an experience, use in future problems. Till then, believe in ur work, believe in yourself. Stay hungry,stay foolish. Hope :)

Book Review : 2 States by Chetan Bhagat

It’s hard to treat a book like 2states as fiction, given that book is inspired from some of his own experiences. The book is all about an IIMA couple’s love and their struggle to get married, keeping their parents smiling on the wedding. Krish is north Indian Punjabi boy . Krish in love with Tamilian Brahmin girl Ananya. Despite their North/south divide, relatives pressure, cajoling parents, parent’s priorities different from theirs, they still manage to be in love and get married,”they lived happily ever after”.

Its not hard to write like Chetan Bhagat. With young and Modern protagonists, a successful love story (which cud be turned into a film), urban language (with F words) and sex, you are into make a novel. But what connects chetan wit his urban audience is his style of writing. Simple language, wit lotta emotions, inspirational leads. His stories cud happen to ur boy/girl next door, may be even to u. I cud relate his books, to 3 real life stories already. Chetan is able to connect with his audience and pass on his works. A trendsetter in his easy going style of writing, no wonder he’s a best seller.

Personally IIM MBA love story from Chetan Bhagat made me restless and anxious. This shows how the real Indian Middle class reacts to a love affair. How culturally apart they, but still can come to an understanding. How mature the leads handle their parents, not elope and add further trouble to them and their families. Chennai descriptions, local Chennai Tamil F words , carnatic music, Punjabi pop music, Hindu reading, Rajni worship, Dowry acceptance, ECR ride, Banking sector, Relatives interference, egoistic parents, distant love story, just friends tag, frustration, anger, money. These connected wit strings of humour all round his dialogues. Ananya’s nerdy brother Manju, bank employee Father Swaminathan, Carnatic singing mother Radha, Typical Punjabi Soap Mother Kavita, Army officer dad, Boss Bala, Blissful Guruji, Dr.Neha.. All come in their lovable journey to marriage.
After reading this book, People who are single will love to fall in love wit a pretty gal/guy, for people in love,I can’t comment on that(a perfect gift for ur loved ones), Parents, rethink abt the social importance for narrow minded castes as compared global Love.

As global warming increases, Warmth of love shud all increase on this earth. Love and be loved :)

From India to the World Outside

I'd just watched Shashi Tharoor's TED talk abt soft power, clearly a responsible and articulated talk. India as a Pluralistic Nation is wat we are known to the outside world. Contrastingly, minutes ago every news channel discussing Liberhan-Babri never ending debate. Politicians accusing the opposite party for some leaders' role. That too leaders who have died or on the verge of dying. Spokespersons managed to move from channel to another and continue to talk the something, like an old tape recorder. Dont they feel a prick in their heart for continuously lying against their conscience, just because some sotta grandpa wished to construct a Ram temple. 17 years after babri, today's India doesnt give a damn if Temple existed there or not.

News Channels have become news makers rather than news seekers. Parliament is an old age home, where MPs need to be given money to ask questions. Or staging walk out for some reason or the other, as Vadivel says "Room pottu yosikuraanga", (thinking by booking a room). Opposition talks as if they r kins of harichandra, ruling party is just Gandhian in its name. All those 50C and 15% commission(bribe,mamool) for every file that comes to the table, sleeps in cold Swiss banks. The tweeting ,Facebooking indian youth just wants the politicians to spend their money for them. Wake up call is not just Sid, To the politicians too.

Is this wat the outside world see in India?? Corrupt, religious violence, anarchy, devoid of any unity,super poor slum dogs,loot,nepotistic nation. For Outside world, India is a known by its culture , pluralism, tradition, ethics, diversity, films, music, arts, cuisines, tourism, knowledge. we are super poor, we need to improve to become super power.

But after all without these politicians, whom its easy to blame, we can't live.Without them the system isn't complete. Its always fun to let them talk on things irrelevant to today's world and u do all the watching. Its like Mansur Ali Khan challenging Superstar Rajni for a movie release clash.

A R Rahman Jai Ho Chennai Concert

My time spent for the concert was 2:30 pm on 11th Oct and ended at 3:30 am the next day. The venue, Marg SwarnaBhoomi was more closer to Pondicherry and could have been a Marakannam concert instead of being Called a Chennai concert. Thanks to Organizers for plying 300 MTC buses and providing free transportation to the fans. You reach the venue and realise, it was not organized inside the city. More than 70,000 people before and after the concert would have resulted in massive security and traffic problems. I wore My trademark ARR Jai Ho Tshirt, felt proud on others' envy :P

1. Fusion by sivamani- started with a small bit of drumming similar to start in LA 2000 concert.
2. Rahman's Words on Music- This was a surprise, ARR's signature words for World Space Radio about music.
3. Jaage Hain from Guru - There appeared a man in black Tshirt for whom these maniacs where waiting for hours. Audiences went really crazy, i'd shouted so much that my voice had already cracked.
4. Kalbali from Rang De Basanti- ARR with Chorus, benny,blaaze, Rehanna, Tanvi,Aslam.
5. Athiradee from Sivaji- ARR went offstage and came back with stylish coolers. Superstar song and wat do u expect the audience to do.. Even ARR went crazy, his gun shoot act like the one Rajni does in the song.
6. Kaadhal Rojave from Roja - Enter to ARR's classics, rendered by Sadhana Sargam and Hariharan. song started in Tamil,went into Telugu,hindi, stunned with their sangadis.
7. Dilli Theme from Delhi6 : Time for peepy music. Enter B-l-a-a-z-e, Benny Dayal, Tanvi for Delhi hai mera Yaar. Ultimate voicing and mixing.
8. Jiya se Jiya from Connections : Great Sync with video, Sivamani drumming with ARR like in the video, ARR performed a stanze in the song on a crane.
9. Style from Sivaji : blaaze asked chennai, "Chennai,Give me one time style" and after 3 times, Oru koodai Sunlight with Tanvi. The spl chennai RAP followed and end with "..chennai, u got style"
10. Liquid Dance from SDM- with Lead Choreographer and Rapper Lush(new upcoming artist) performing the dance.
11. Konjam Nilavu form Thiruda Thiruda- sung by Shweta Pandit and Luch with additional RAP lyrics, Lighting and effects were splendid, in timing with beats.
12. Ring Ringa from SDM - started with a fusion with Taal Theme and gradually went into Ringa. Performed by Neeti Mohan and Shweta.
13. Fiqrana from Blue - Latest entry in Jai Ho series. The voice mode was in techno mode and ARR testing with "Hello Chennai"
14. Dilse re from Dilse - blissful classic, audience harmonious with ARR in singing.
15. Jashne Bahara from Jodhaa Akbar - clean,soothing Javed Ali's rendition.
16. Snegithane from Alaipayuthey - Sadhana sargam sung but in telugu and Hindi, to audience's disappointment. Audience by this time wanted more tamil songs.
By this time ppl were disppointed as less number of tamil songs were sung.
ARR said,"Now time for Some unplugged sessions and love songs"

17. Mausam and Escape from SDM- unplugged with ARR on piano and continuum(yes he played live). ARR's unplugged version of Mausam ,then Azad on sitar, Keith peters and others on guitar.
18. Kahin to from Jaane Tu - Rashid Ali intro singing.
19. Tamizha Tamizha from Roja - Hariharan's evergreen cult song in Indian Music, with Sangadhis from hari. Rightfully fans wit Indian flags waved proudly.
20. Vaishnava Jana To - Tamizha unplugged was mixed with dis song, with few words of Gandhi in backgound.
21. Uyire Uyire from Bombay - The classic Love song with feelings with godlevel sangadhis of hariharan.
22. Kabhi Kabhi Aditi from Jaane Tu - Rashid Ali's love Anthem , for all the Aditis in the audience.

23. Rehna Tu from Dilli6 - ARR explaining the purpose behind the song, "its dedicated to state of mind of accepting people, unconditionally" a few words in tamil. ARR hummed the continuum part also.
24. Chayya Chayya From Dilse : rendered by Rehenna and Chorus, male lead Aslam. The low point in the concert, as if the song was wantedly inserted.
25.Taxi Taxi from Sakkarakati- Every one on their chairs to "Make a way.. Make some sound" . High energy Benny,Blaaze,vivianne Poche.
26. Mayya Mayya from Guru- Neeti Mohan (as gorgeous as ever), Her hip shapes were as though they wer goin to Pondicherry and coming back. Sivamani joined her at the stage centre with navin's flute.

A break, which the audience detested. Organizers speech, ARR presented with holy waters of Jerusalem, Ganges, Mecca by the Religious heads of Three Religions. Audience were, " kellambunga pa.. kaathu varattum", "start Music".

27. Medley mix of Azeem o shaan , 28.Rukkumani, 29.Veerapaandi Kottayilae- The beats , vocals,lighting effects were in full flow.

30. Drums bit bit Sivamani, starting from classic to Kuthu.
31. Kwaja mera Kwaja from Jodha Akbar and 32. Arziyan from Dilli6 - sufi styled songs, dat comes and touches ur hearts, soulful. with Aslam's and Javed Ali's improvisations.
33. Kannalane from Bombay-late vandhalum correct ah vanthaga evergreen Chitra ma'm. Entire audience gave her standing ovation with "once more" cries.
34. Jiya Jale from Dilse- chitra's rendition, over gethu with Lighting and dancers dancing with fire.

Hari and ARR enter. Hari,"Wat shall we make them do". ARR said," Atleast not trouble them".
35. Ay hairathe from Guru: with hari's starting aalaps , supported in the song by Sadhana Sargam. Totally into feeling and time for Pop
36. Aye Bachoo from Ghajini : Suzzane's amazing vocals, mind blowing and lights to the beats. Awesomeness.
37. Mustafa Mustafa from Kadhal Desam: Amazing guitar by Keith,Sanjeev, Rashid in the start. Audience totally experiencing the lyrics and waving both hands L->R and viceversa. Lamp ballons were raised.
38. Humma Humma from Bombay : with Blaaze's RAP "Take it from the Bottom me to the take it to the top" and semma rendition by ARR.
39. Jai Ho from SDM : The lead song of the concert,Jai ho. Pyrometric rockets were lighting the skies, every color cud be spotted.
40. Vande Mataram - Classic closing with Everyone joining and Indian flags flew high.

I strongly blame organisers for poor screens. The perverted camera man, without musical knowledge couldn't pan and cover everyone.He covered as if he was covering a cricket match. Everyone felt , "Has Rahman Become Jade-ish" with less tamil songs for tamil audience??" That's justified bye the fact that last year only one tamil movie and more hindi movies, no wonder more hindi songs. After all, music doesnt need language.

As if walked back from concert, i saw a huge banner on a the floodlights post,which said, " Thank You , A R Rahman!!!"

1st Corporate Bday

Thanks a lot to all the beloved ones who wished me on my bday. This being my first bday after my entry into the corporate world as a professional, executive, officer (Whatever we name the designation, ultimate work is to timepass n get salary :P )

As a part of my team culture to distribute sweets(Mysore Pak) to my entire team. Even before i could reach to them,everyone were waiting.. Thnx to vaidyanath for the best gift on my bday. How better can it be Rahmaniac to a Rahmaniac. Gift was the unofficial biography of A.R.Rahman, A R Rahman - Musical Storm by Kamini Mathai. Followed by Greeting cards with close pals message and wishes :D . I Loved my new nick VISU(VInod SUndaram). I can confuse ppl like tamil Director Visu. Finally the cake cutting. Wow the chocolate flavored one was really yummmy!!! Gud that my shirts n pants weren't affected by the caking of the cakes on me.

It was indeed a very very memorable, cherishing, long lasting Bday of my life

Timepass Person(TPP). Made in India

Lets see how the society and people around us influence a normal person to become the timepass person(TPP). One small kutti story..

Born to a well settled family, what do u expect the timepass baby does. He feels super lazy to ambulate from one place to another. Finally his parents forcefully give him a cart to walk, and he walks. During the night, he has to go all the way to bathroom to pee, Aaram se he prefers his bed and huggies to bathroom. During school days, while all his friends prefer outdoor games and physical exertion, he prefers POGO TV, Chutti TV, Animax, Pokeman etc. Now a graduation time in his life, he doesn't know which stream he has to follow... 2 Missed calls to his friends and he follows them to college and selects the same bench as them. His creativity and imagination blossoms during those lullaby sessions of his professor. His chalta hai approach has gets him a job through his Training and placement department, while most of his buddies queue before US embassies.

Now to the most important part of choosing his life partner. He doesn't timepass with this part of his life. He know how to take his life forward.

choice 1:
His wife would have been a lawyer or a very social person, who cares for the welfare of the people. In future she could well become the President of the country. TPP gets his chance to accompany in her morning walks at Mughal gardens, go on world tours when she's on offical trips, meet other TPP First gentlemen( similar to First ladies).

Choice2:
Next option,love affair with his college girl who has entrepreneurial ideas and good at management. They could still start a company or get placed together in a company. She could one day become a CEO some company and get awards for powerful businesswoman of the year. He could still be happy to do work from home and be the man behind the great woman( like a Tamil verse.. behind every male's success, there's female).If he had studied English, he could write a book about his life/love story and make it become a best seller. He can give inspirational talks in IIMs and other best colleges like Lovely Professional University.

Choice3:
If his father is either in Cinema, politics, Music , then he's bound to have a future in that field. In cinema, his father should turn producer and launch him as a hero, then start fan clubs and sow the foot steps for politics. Politics leaves him as the legal heir of the party of his father. He becomes a gr8 leader and goes to parliament to either shout n walk out or sleep undisturbed by the proceedings. Music gives him chances to explore the old works of his father, remix them, loot tunes from foreign artists and give a Desi touch to it. If his wife is in his field and has a good market even after doing heroine's sister, heroine, sister, aunt, mother, grandma roles, then he can take up a role as her manager and counter all the gossips that go rounds in media. If a he's a celebrity he can update his status in Facebook and twitter through Aircel pocket internet like Dhoni.

Hence being a TPP is very serious business. Choosing his/her better half comes after a lotta thought. Being a TPP, you are entitled to think freely, liberally and hence mind becomes devils workshop. Often things get tapered at these workshops. Being a TPP has become a Social Status, especially during holidays, a normal person is bantered if people have you are not in timepass tag. The increase in timepassing people with facebook quizzes and gtalk. No wonder if some people from All India Timepass Association go on air in CNN-IBN and ask Finance minister for tax concession for those doing timepass.(As politicians do more timepass than us, they can understand our feelings better.)

PS: Head of Nofeelings Youth Association ( Varuthapadatha Vaaliba Sanga Thalivar) Kaipulla has put forth the claim for induction of "timepass" in english dictionary. This year,It is the most frequently used word, even beating JAI HO!!!

New chapter begins

After a long hibernation, here comes my first post after my vacation. My life at NITT has come to an end. Now I'm a provisional Engineering graduate. I'm joining Verizon Data services India Pvt Limited at Chennai(The best and only option I'd).Atleast i'm happy to get this job after weeks of frustration and tension, i've get a joining date.

There were so many times where i'd asked this question during all these days of distress, " Why me always..GOD". Now when i'm able to see some light at the end of tunnel and many of friends still in darkness, i think, "GOD has chosen me for some reason".
Like A.R.Rahman sir said," There are two genius( M.S.Viswanathan and Ilayaraaja ) sitting with me on the stage, I think GOD has chosen me to get the award on their behalf." How true it is. We dont ask that question when we are happy and chose to ask it during distress.

I remember, when i was spellbound by Prabhu Dheva in Mukkala Muquabula song from Kadhalan, the respect and admiration for Michael Jackson grew further. An idol for the next generation POP singers and choreographers, He's truely the King of POP. Was looking forward to Rahman meeting MJ in his comeback concert. Things go otherwise...

Iruvar : The Duo

Just watched(not first time) this movie on Star Vijay and couldn't stop myself from blogging.

The movie is the fictional account of two big stalwarts of TamilNadu, M.G.Ramachandran aka MGR and M.Karunanidhi aka kalaignar. This is the only movie which showcases these two superstars characters and its a masterpiece for the Genext, to know about their lifes and how tamil cinema and Dravidian Politics amalgamated. This is one of my favourite scenes. Portrayal of even the minutest details from the leaders extramarital affairs to their respect for each other in their final years.

The casting cannot be so perfect in any movie, but Mani sir does it again. Prakash Raj, Mohanlal play the lead supported by Revathi,Tabu, Gouthami, Aiswarya Rai(JJ's role), Naaser( Annadurai's role), the movie comes with a power packed performance. Prakash Won his National Award for His role of a writer/politician.

Music by Rahman sir was Outstanding. Its not easy to compose music of a period film with reality. Those Background Bgm enhances each scene and carries the viewers into that period.

Santhosh Sivan's cinematography is a class act. The apt lighting and filming requires a head bow to this technical superstar.

I would fail in my duty if i miss Vairamuthu, in a movie which has lead characters as a tamil writer/politician. His Rebellious "kannai katti kollathae" and "Aayirathil Naan Oruvan" , Romantic "Narumagiyae". His kavidhaigal also stands out in this movie, especially " Udal Mannukku.. Uyir Tamilzhukku.. Idhu Urakka solvom Ullagirkku".

I thank mani sir for taking this gr8 fictional biopic, to show movies and politics got intertwined and give us an idea of the life of two great human beings.

When everyone expected a Hung parliament, ManMohan & Co stunned everyone with Clean sweep. When Rajasthan Royals were considered favourites for IPL season II, again, you are in for a surprise. Look who has got into the IPL finals, Deccan (gulti) Chargers and Royal Challengers(Kingfisher) Bangalore. The last two teams of season one.

Both teams have almost same set of players who played last year also. Wat had changed things for them??

Captains: With new captains Gilly and Jumbo, the teams have scaled new heights.
Venue: may be south africa is a new place.. everything starts fresh again..

Dhoni supporters shud realize that all that Dhoni touches cannot become gold. His birth stars have changed their positions and things wont be same for Dhoni. Anti Dhoni is always on the rise. Its a custom in India that " if ur liked.. u'll have a temple, get all awards Rahul Gandhi Khel Ratna(in future), have maximum ADs" :P. "If ur performance dips.. Stones will be hurled, ur photos will be burnt, slipper garlands, applying tar" wat not..

CSK shud realize that L.Balaji is a lokka bowler( lacks pace). The team owner shud say to M. Gony, " Go neee..". CSK can make hay when the sun(Hayden) shines. CSK can join the elite Vada poche community. Either Raina or Rain cAn save matches for CSK. Only player who plays consistently in the CSK camp is Drums Sivamani

Jai HO A R Rahman Kozhikode concert

There’s nothing more in life than goin for a Rahman concert in life for us(me, ripper bala, Gmah, Vui, mallu, baby).The Rahmaniacs. After a lotta plannin, cajoling my parents, finally we got the 2000 tkts.

Before the concert:
I was feeling really excited and happy that i'd finished by last semester exams before the concert. We reached kozhikode thru a train from Erode. We wore a A R Rahman T-shirt, with Jai HO oscAR Rahman"in the front and "Music is my religion" at the back. For the 7:30 concert, we were there by 11:30 and roamed the streets of kozhikode. We were asked by few locals if we were performing with Rahman (seriously.. :D). We gotta know a lotta other like minded Rahmaniacs. There was a particular group which had spent 5000 bugs for air ticket, to watch the concert from Rs.500 stands.

At the Concert:
Corporation football stadium was completely filled. All chairs were occupied. No space even to stand and watch. All set for thalaivar to let loose. The song list:

Then we started our return journey to the hotel. We stopped an auto and asked him for a ride at 12:30 in the nite, he said" 5 ppl.. 30 rupees" ( 30 rupees otherwise get lost.. dat was his attitude.. Adapaavi pozhaika theriyathavan pola). Overall a fitting farewell for us. Had real fun :D :D

A R Rahman's Jai Ho concert

I counting my time to reach Kozhikode from NITT. Exactly 24 hrs to go for the Oscar Awardee, Mozart of Madras A.R .Rahman's Jai ho Concert. Its is Rahman sir's first concert after the Oscars and the world expects so much from rahman after the oscars. The Concert is organised by a Kerala based NGO for AIDS awareness programme. A team of 23 Singers with Rahman are participating with Rahman sir.

After long planning and constant updates thru net, we were able to buy the tickets. It took us a lotta time to convince my parents for the tkts(Rs.2000). With my new Rahman t-shirt to be worn on the concert, i'm all excited abt the concert :)

Its also a fitting farewell for all the Rahmaniacs at NITT, to have a concert on the very next day after their final semester exams end :) :D

We, ourselves, didnt realise that we'd so much talent of being a lyricist in us. When Perarasu can write those cheap lyrics for film numbers why cant we.

I went on to write two songs and compose music for Tamil Street play event (Koothupattarai). The topic that we chose was Arivuchelvam( Knowledge is wealth)

We went on to win 3rd prize in that event. We couldnt believe it. (Engallukka intha prize.. comedy pannatheenga judge sir). NITTFEST'09 was special for ICE dept, given that we crossed 30 points for the first time and moved away from bottom 4 postions. ICE securing 60 points overall, with 21 points in tamil litz alone(last year zero). I was vital in scoring 15 points in tamil litz.. Kudos to the team.. Hats off to NITTFEST'09 .. Go Green!!! :)

ICE class trip travelogue

Finally after a lotta planning and discussion, the ICE department class'09 trip happened. The places being Veegaland, cochin, Munnar. It was really exciting to go for class trip in last semester of college life. So much memories to cherish for a life time :)

We took a bus for the entire journey. The common boarding point being Bhel, Trichy. It started around 9:30 pm and then a small halt at sangeetas at CBS trichy. The route was along the Dindugal, chalakudy route.We stayed at the YMCA, kochi. Thanks to Shamsu, AB, Pant, Privin for organizing(or helping the organizers).

Day1 started with a Nair kadai chaaya, from tea shop outside YMCA. A filling breakfast and photosessions were already in the pipeline.( gals took boys by surprise.. appearing in their uniform black tshirts for veegaland). After a small stop at Naveen's grandma's place, we proceeded to veegaland. Absolute fun at the theme park. Being my second time, i went for all the dry n wet rides totally and enjoyed my best at veegaland. RB was kind enough to teach me swimming. Veegaland was followed by a small stop at marine drive, for some ppl to booze, while the gals proceeded for shopping. I'd an awesome,filling Mango Milk shake. The dinner was at a 3 star hotel. The veegaland swimming was so tiring and we felt completely exhausted at the end of the day.

Day2 was to Athirampalli falls, 2 hrs from cochin. Remember Aishwarya Rai dancing for Barso re from Guru, Oru theivam song from Kannathil Muthamittal, Namitha's Arjuna song from Aei or the famous Punnagai Mannan. All have been shot at this beautiful place. simply outta this world. No wonder its a favourite shooting spot. The journey to the downstream of the fall was steep and strenuous. The return trip was even more fun, wit ppl pole dancing in the bus. I'd some house building(voodu katturathu..chennai slang) and saroja step. I'd to leave midway to airport to chennai to attend cousin's engagement. The trip continued,minus me, to munnar. A campfire was organised that nite. I really(totally) missed that one. I was awaiting such opportunties to show my dance skills. Chey.. Opportunity missed. :( :(

On the whole, an amazing, evergreen trip to the God's Own country.

PS: The photos that i was posing were big time flops. Either someone shapes the camera, less focus, too much flash, trims the frame. Very difficult for a photographer to get himself photographed. while most(i think) photos that i photograph are much better.

This is my first post after Rahman sir won the Oscars.. I woke up at 4 in the morning.. very unusual for my schedule, before my mom and grandpa.. Watch all CNN-IBN, NDTV, Star Movies, Live stream on the net.. Finally watch slumdog sweep the academy awards.. And there he walked with two oscars.. Rahman sir.. As simple and humble as ever.. " Ella Pugazhum iraivannukae.." in tamil.. Couldnt believe it... Prayers of a B(z)illions of Indians was answered !!! :)

then back to business at college..

These were the excerpts from the song where's the party from the super hit movie Silambattam, starring Little Super star(so called) Simbu. The lyrics didn't mean anything until Shri Ram Sena activists got it. How simbu movie with Ram Sena.. puzzled ???

Last week, the physical power used by Sri Ram Sena activists against women and their boy friends in Mangalore pubs relates the activists to the song. Literally these girls were pushed down, harassed, tortured..(if u write gre, find better words to fill in..) . Thanks to cnn-ibn, ndtv, HT, for broadcasting these videos repeatedy, to increase their TRPs. These activists claim to be protecting our culture. Do they?? Even gods like Karthikeya , Krishna, etc.. had 2 wives and played with womenfolk.. All these activists show check up history before preserving our culture :P

All those ppl who don't wanna spend money lavishly for their wedding can approach Shri Ram Sena, for a cheap wedding. check up the cartoon on monday,9th february 2009 (ROTFL!!)

The recent death of a person for the sake of innocent killings of Tamils in Sri Lanka. I believe, all those losers who dont have the guts to face the situation, commit suicide. The poor guy would get some 5lakhs from tamilnadu govt and a huge amount from those who provoked him for his death. Obviously Thol. Thirumavalavan, Dr. Ramadoss, Vaiko(vai..go) will capitalize on this issue to boost their image in people's minds. With Stalin and Azhagiri taking the DMK mantle, these people have no future in tamil nadu's politics. They use these suicide gimmicks and politicise the issue... just as Raj thackery and MNS did..

Finally karuna will be discharged from hospital and give a lumpsome to all these ppl and say " I'm back!!!". Obviously there are LTTE supporters in tamilnadu. Watta country India is.. Indian PM's images are burnt.. LTTE Prabhakaran's( accussed in India) bday is celebrated.. Its ironical that the man who masterminded the assaination of Indian PM is hailed...

Day 3 - Valparai

For day 2 , Udumalpet, Thirumurthy

Day3:
Valparai is not a proper tourist destination like ooty or kodaikanal. It is a quiet,calm place to relax and enjoy... full of tea estates and dams. The road to valparai downhills had 40 hairpin bends, which are really steep than u expect. Valparai trip was coordinated and guided by M.S.karthi and his dad.

we stayed at solayar dam inspection bunglow,20 kms from valparai. As his dad was a govt employee, we could get access to reserve forests and waterfalls, which are inaccessible to public. Once in a lifetime opportunity for us. Thanks to uncle for this trip :)

I will never forget this trip. I slipped and fell down on all three days. First in veegaland, second in reserve forest(twice there :P).We could walk in places where crocodiles rest in night( we saw their sand trails).. saw deers, orangutans, cat(at mudis club)

Thanks to Lakshmi mess( 4times) and Mudis club for the tasty food. We covered Nirar Dam, Reserve forest, solayar dam, balaji temple, Chinnakallar( literally froze to death while taking bath there), Seeeen god view point( A fraud samiyar lives there claiming,"i've seen god". We couldn't find him when we were there.. ) . Chinnakallar is a small falls where elephants come to quench their thirst. We couldn't spot them, but we found their dungs(big..compared to cow's) all throughout the path leading to falls.

The return journey in government bus from valparai to palani( 5 hours), palani to trichy(4hours). Finally reached NITT on Monday morning 3.30 am.

Day 2 - Udumalpet,Thirumurthy falls

for day1, Veegaland.

Day 2 :
Udumalpet, an amazing place to live in. The morning walk around the karthi's house was fabulous. The truckers and Petro Companies played havoc in our trip. No diesel for the van. We'd to settle the van and use govt transport for all places. Day 1 was predominantly Thirumurthy falls and Thirumurthy dam.

Thirumurthy falls has been the favorite spot for Tamil Cinema industry. Remember Mettukudi(where Karthik convinces Gemini Ganesan by singing in a temple), Jeyam ( Ravi in the climax ),etc , all have been shot here. In fact there was a set build for a captain vijayakanth.

After a wonderful time, we returned to karthi's home.. had a sumptuous lunch, a short nap. We began our night journey to Valparai(5 hrs).

Day 1 - Veegaland

Day1 :
We reached Veegaland around 9pm. After our breakfast and photo sessions we entered the park. Starting with all thrill rides followed by water rides. The first ride itself created nausea , vomiting for many. Slowly after each ride strength decreased for thrill rides, then enter water rides!!!

There were deadly rides like free fall, super jumper, waves, vertical fall,etc. I lost balance during the mystic river(went 3 times) , fell into water,hurt my head and made a big comedy for others to laugh. :)

Not a pose to give from a toilet. A different lighting experience. The punjumittai(a candy) always waters my mouth.

A quick coffee and outta veegaland. We started for Udumalpet(karthi's home). The route was trichur, palakkad, pollachi, udumalpet. Dinner at a sappa place on the outskirts of palakad. No eatable item was left in that hotel . Pengu and Dr.Vinoth(karthi's bro)joined us from college. All 23 slept at their home. we succumbed to our tiredness and had a gr8 sleep.

Day 0 - to sivakasi

Back after a really fabulous,tiring trip. :) The trip to Veegaland, Valparai were really amazing!!! It was a trip which we planned for a really long time (after our Courtalam,Kodaikanal trip). We finally decided the dates, transportation, routes. It started on 7th afternoon at 1:30pm from NITT. We(21.. a big number) were on our route to sivakasi(hari's home). Caught a 128 vestibule bus to Central Bus Stand, Trichy. From CBS, a bus to madurai, then a connecting bus to Sivakasi. Wow!! wat food we had at his residence. people need to learn hospitality from them. I went with usual parotta and Salna(kurma). The private van from NKP travels( similar to mkp ) was arranged.

This post is dedicated to a close friend of mine, who had been with me for the past 3 years. Each day, i would talked to him, play with him. He was a part of all the happiness, agony, anger, well trieds. I still remember the first day my dad introduced me to him. He was a tech geek. He was called Nokia 6610i.

The moment Siddharth's phone rings in Rang De basanti, i whistled in theatre. He owns the same model of Nokia as mine. This was my first personal device for me, only myself. It has been a great phone. After all the free falls from the 1st floor of my hostel, From my bed, after my rollover while sleeping, after i played football with it(i played thrice!!!) , it had lasted for 3 long years, before he broke down into pieces(as shown). Thank you for bearing with me.

The cell panel broke, the display had a huge pink speck( like a design..i couldn't even read my sms). Finally i found a replacement in Nokia 5320 Express Music. I initially thought of using Exchange offer, but the mobile shop owner would have chucked me out of the shop for asking for an exchange in this condition.

2008 was one of the most crucial years of my life. I'm no more a teenager. I'm more a mature man with loads of gyaan that 2008 had thought me.. happiness, anger, vengeance, acceptance, knowledge. As actor sivakumar says, Idhuvum kadanthu pogum. ( whatever happens life has to go on.. )

The CPCs, the terrible confusion over career, projects , higher studies( MS vs MBA), those uncertain days of sitting for companies. Finally things will happen. All those pieces fell in place, to get placed in verizon, on 28th october 2008. The extraordinary Pragyan-08(as Organization Manager), festember with friends, birthday bums, terrible semester as usual( lucky!! zero in one cycle test).

Supported by Madras Mozart AR Rahman's Jodha Akbar, Ada, Sakkarakatti, Yuvaraaj, Ghajni, SlumDog Millionaire, Jiya Se jiya( free Hugs!!!) . Harris, Gautham, suriya was lovely with their Vaaranam Aiyiram. Subramaniyapuram, Saroja, Anjathey that stood out of the lot. Thanks to Kamal sir for Dasavatharam, beyond indian movie standards.Cinema has proved the script is superior to stars with Kuselan, Rab de Bana.., Drona, Kuruvi, Aegan flopping.

Getting a job wasn't easy with Economic recession. The Tall Lehmann brothers, Meriyll lynch needed bail outs. Most of Western Countries under recession, Thanks to Chidambaram and his team, we were bailed out earlier. Bush got what he deserved.. A shoe. Obama made the world believe that "yes..we can".

Whatever M.S Dhoni tried worked in his favour, chennai Super kings, Test, ODI, T-20. Good period in his life, guess that's wat astrology is predicting. A well deserved send off to Dada(Ganguly) and jumbo(kumble). Abhinav Bindra fetching India's first Individual gold, made every Indian proud!!!!

Finally, 26/11 made the country unite against terrorism, showed us the lapses in our national security. Souls that lost their lives in the battle. Karkares, Salaskars, Sandeeps. We salute your bravery, You definitely inspired us!!!

bye bye 2008.. we had it all .. Ups and Downs.

Me, Kutty, Nags, VuiVui and bunk decided to meet up at Spencers after days of slumber during the holidays. Movie buffs were in majority and the meet up ended with Jason Stathom's Transporter-3 at Sathyam Cinemas. While We were waiting for the 4pm show, a group of Neo Sports journalists approached us for their promos about chennai test .

Q1: About the situation , security concerns and spirit of cricket after 26/11 Mumbai attacks??
A cliched response with passion for cricket , best spirits, to show solidarity for Indians

Q2: Yuvraj in for vacant ganguly spot?? with Badri, vijay in squad???
Yuvraj is the man in form with plethora of talent to replace ganguly's spot in test team. Vui vui exaggerating " he'll be chucked out of the team if he's not performing. He's got enough opportunities."

No wonder he's the best sportsman of the country !!! A gr8 Human :-)

Eating vs Peeing : which's the best

This incident happened when i was returning from the ims Simcat exam from trichy to college. I was at the CBS ( central bus Stand ) to board the bus . I had dropped in at the Public pay and use toilet at CBS to pee. Generally these Pay n use toilets are supposed to be clean, but never ever u can see a clean public toilet. Come on dis is India man...

I'd to pay to Rs.2 to use the toilet. Its when i was peeing, i realised the stack of waivers given by the Tamil Nadu CM karuna . It's is usual phenomena to give waivers to divert people's attention from the problems ( like the current power shedding) .

The Best part of my realization was... The 1kg of rice for Re.1 at the ration shops waiver which had a nice response from the people. To pee in a public is Rs.2 , but to get 1kg of Rice the Ration Shops is Re.1 . Its gud that govt knows the value of eating ahead of peeing. but still idhu konjam overa than irukku ( heights )!!!!!!!

I’m a big well wisher of Tamil cinema, strongly believing in good movies with novelle ideas. Be it a thriller or action movies like Goutam’s Kaakha Kaakha or like silent stunner Mozhi of Radha Mohan. When Stylish, innovative thrillers with hollywood kinda narratives being made, the big corporates like Moserbaer, UTV, Pyramid Saimira should also encourage quality movies. It’s those Cherans, Ameers, Balas , Thankar Bachans who continue to keep the audience spell bound with their clean n down to earth stories.

I’ve always like cheran’s movies, be it thaavamai thavamiruthu ( I remember many of the older generation heaping laurels on this movie) , Simple concept of respecting ypur elders and forgiveness of younger generation by older ones was the story. These movies are slow, at some point’s stationary, but they are so natural as though it happens in your neighbourhood.

Cheran’s Raman Thediya Seethai. As it says the protagonist searching for his better half is the crux of the story. After being psychologically affected in his childhood, despite getting state 2^nd in class 10^th examination, the no. of rejected proposals make his life bitterer. The belief and the perseverance of the protagonist is the story. Pasupathi as a Blind RJ was fantafabulous. He shares his motivation with cheran over a coffee session and influences him greatly. His good hearted helping nature and subtle performance by cheran stands out and evokes sympathy from me. He even helps the girl, who eloped with her boy friend on eve of her marriage with cheran. The screenplay is as though it’s the story of someone in my neighborhood.

Kudos to these Tamil cinema makers who make realistic films inviting family audience to movies, even when tamil cinema is making Hollywood style fast paced thrillers

For those who r still skeptical about it, check up google search or wikipedia :P

1. Sovereign - " The right to control the government, the people, country "
politicians realize that people exist only when elections are approaching. Parties protest for so called anti people policies, even when people favour them.

2.Socialistic - "creation egalitarian society, in wealth n power equally distributed"
The rich get richer and poor get poorer. Everyone is concerned whether Ambanis will top the forbes list, none is concerned about the people below poverty line.

3.Secular - " government and other decisions free from political influence "
Secularism.. the dangerous one.. the parties and ideologies are respected. India is a country with religious political parties who can demolish mosques, kill innocent minority people for revenge, rape people for religion .

4. Democracy -" the government elected by the people "
Any one can talk anything in this country, be it Raj Thackery or Dr. Ramadoss, no one cares. Each caste can have a political party who dig up roads, cricket grounds,burn public transport, involve in bandhs for their political ambitions.

All the italized definitions find place only in civis textbooks

Amazing to find the kathipara and other flyovers growing @ a fast pace.

The MARG-Chennai Marathon , organized for charity purpose was an huge hit. Kudos to chennaites. I was actually planning to run, but finally opted out due to personal reasons.

scene :: when some 5 people were bored of boredom and so vetti , decided to discuss abt the most beautiful girl in the coll(very difficult to find one in NITT ).

the situation started as usual with a scapegoat, one pullapoochi. The sincere-me decided to study for placements, otherwise no scope of getting placed in a company.Quietly, I vacated my seat , when i caught the group's attention. I told them i've some work, so i'm leaving.X told, " we won't link u with dat gal da, so don't worry". Still i remained firm on my stance to leave. Suddenly Y told, " macha, don't force him da, he'll get tensed and shout da. Let him go". I felt like i'd gotta tight slap across my face (like in balachandar's movies). I realised my friends have always thought me as a dormant volcano which could burst out any time. My short temper has earned me such a bad image among my friends. Mom's words on anger pinged my brain. ( one of the realizations of my life. For me anger is insignificant, Just that i've expressed my dislikeness then and there.

All those incidents which aroused anger so far in my life need to be addressed in a more soft manner. All those problems in class caused faculty or the studious gals, or fellow players in a cricket match who reprimand me for bowling a bad delivery , or when smirking about a false relationship or those people who think they are smart n avoid lines in hostels, mess .. Come what ever, here after , " I DON'T GIVE A DAMN!!!!!"

Appreciate the Hardwork

First, this post is not a review of Dasavatharam, U would have read many blogs posted on that topic. I personally felt, they are certain things more than cliche reviews. I always reiterate my stand of being a lover of good cinema, not inclined towards any stars or have their fan following.

If people cannot appreciate the nuances of dasavatharam, then they are being hypocritical. Stating " after all the hype abt make-up, it turned out to be a buzzavatar" These people need to know we are making Indian films , for Indian people. Please don't compare it with an hollywood movie. As Yuhi Sethu, actor-writer exclaims, " Americans are just 200 years old, but we need to make movies for 2000 years old tamil audience with the tamil traditions and culture in mind. Oscars are awards given to Americans/British for their movies, Our movies need not be recognised by the Oscar Academy". There are other pool of stars and superstar to give a full fledged entertainers. We don't expect that from a kamal movie. Something extraordinary is what kamal gives.

Morethan the entertainment, the audience needs to be prepared for this movie. K.S. RaviKumar in his interview ," even the illiterate can understand the movie". He completely overrules the belief in hypocrites about the complex nature of story.For a layman on the street, " Some virus inside a box , if dispersed can spread exponentially and kill humanity. A scientist who invented it tries to prevent it from happening .A villain tries to get that box because of his inhumane money-minded nature. finally tsunami comes from saves mankind from a catastrophy" as simple as it can get. you don't understand the english part to know this story. All the complexity about the chaos theory, butterfly effect, biowarfare is for the literate to do a wikipedia referral.

Things that amazed me. The very range of the story from 12th century and present age tells u abt the research n background work to write such a script. The perserverance and determination in transforming what he has scripted.The Journey of thousand miles begins in a footstep. Dasavatharam character have a close resemblance to Lord Vishnu's Dasavathar, their character , appearance, body language. No special comedy tracks, no duets with heroines,no intro songs, movies breaks the conventional cinema. Climax states, even the deadly tsunamis happen for the sake of good. Everything happens for a reason, be optimistic and search for the good.

The movie makes audience prepare themselves for the movie rather than other way. This will be a new trend to tamil cinema, Movie takes tamil cinema to a different platform. Hats off to Ashtadhavani Kamal, Master director KSR . Dasa is a feather in ever growing tamil cinema.

IPL has married cricket and entertainment . It was an immense success, a good timepass for people especially for children during their summer vacations. Different players play for different teams despite their ethnic differences. This includes the foreign players too. The players were embraced with open hands by the supporters of the teams. Generally this caption will be used for people to achieve something extraordinary .Like while in a cricket match, when Dhoni goes for the kill, a caption said " Go Dhoni Go". But this post has nothing to do with that.

When i caught the glimpse of the news when i was refreshing ibnlive.com, i was elated and filled with ebulience. KPS Gill , retired Police Officer from Punjab , The President of Indian Hockey Federation is sacked. The Indian Olympic Association has dissolved the IHF and has appointed a 5 adhoc member committee in its place. Gill known for his bullheaded nature, had never ever thought about resigning from the top post , which has held for the past 15 years.

The Hockey, Indian National Sport was in a poor state of affairs in his tenure, that lead to many failures at the international arena. No proper infrastructure in the country was developed, no school or college level programs were organised. Indian Hockey stagnated, that's when other sports like cricket bossed over hockey. More than 15 coaches were sacked in his term. Many talented players like Gagan Ajt singh, Jugraj Singh, Baljit Singh Dhillon were sidelined from the national squads. Many former players including Dhanraj Pillay, Viren Resquinha raising their voices vehemently against Gill administration. Even Many protests Mr.Gill was unperturbed.India even failed to qualify for olympics this year, which added fuel to this growing anger against Mr.Gill. Mr. Jyothikumaran, Secretary, IHF, right hand of Mr.Gill, was caught on camera for accepting money to select a player into the national squad.

IOA had thought, "Enough is Enough.. Somebody's gonna do something to teach this old jackass".
Lets hope the hockey dismal state improves in this country, what else can we do.. just hope :-)

Product Design & Development is an offbeat course, undergone by all students in ICE department. My product is AQUAMON , a swimming pool monitoring system. It uses a color sensor . I had to fabricate a pcb with that sensor.

With the available contacts, i had to go to VI microsystems,perungudi to fabricate this IC. Where on earth is Perungudi?? Its a small place in south chennai. For the first time i realised, chennai is bigger than i expected. Its no more chennai, Greater Chennai. I was redirected to some other company by VI. The inner roads were equally bad. Finally i saw a board stating, end of perungudi municipality. I remembered sivajis' dialogue in parashakthi, " odinen.. odinen.. perungudiyin ellaivarai odinen.. angae road illathathal, thirumbi vanthuvittaen.."( i ran until perungudi's municipal limit, but i retreated, as there was n oroad)

I explained everything to that company and got my IC fabricated, immediately started for trichy that night. 1st day in trichy, 2nd at perungudi-chennai, 3rd day in trichy.
All these was done,ultimately to find that my IC was not working :-:::: .
Now i feel normal exams are much better than this course. It deserves more than 4 credits. Atleast we work more than 4 credits ..

Nittfest-08.. infested by ece..

One of the most awaited events of Nit-Trichy, The inter dept cult fest, NITTFEST. This year my bench mate, Arun Balaji, was the event chairman. But still I maintained my stand of not working for Nittfest. I prefer participating in the cult events. Of course, I like dancing n participating in English litz events. I didn’t want my dept to loose bcos of me (even otherwise they’ll lose.). So no other go, Tamil litz is the only hope.

The event Nittfest is turning out more like an ECEfest, so no use in other dept people competing with them. Imagine the plight of metallurgy dept (no offences) with a class strength around 30, competing with the mighty ECEs of 80 in number. There’s a talk that the strength might rise to 120 next academic year. I agree with the director’s point, that there’s no need to have a Nittfest, if this situation continues. There were times in this Nittfest’08, where the audience knew the results before they were announced. “Obviously, ECE first da, whatever they do…”. Almost every other dept students uttered these words. EEE movie spoof was much better than ECE or any other department.

So what plans for next nittfest?? May be we can have ECE vs. all other 10 departments. While the ECE’s can have their Veni...vidi...vici, all the other department can have a t-shirt mocking at the ECEs. The best part was the dedication of the Mech Machos to ECE paddips, “naanda vanathil oru aandi...” song from Oram Po, (if u have not heard, pls do hear dat one!!!!)

This year edition was a bit fruitful as I qualified for most of the prelims, but lost out in the finals. The best part was the movie spoof. My department played “imsai Arasan...Elikaesi... B.tech”. with Rivat Haans, ARS playing the lead role, me as his minister with Koundamani character. Another guy, Adarsh as another minister imitating Lollu Sabha Manohar. Wow... adarsh is the exact replacement for ARS when he passes out. The worst thing ever could happen was that we had our first rehearsal on the stage in front of the audience. Fulltime Comedy.

Overall it was a nice time, fun filled, with department senti as always like anyother edition of Nittfest!!!!

According to me, the most awaited moment of the year was Pragyan so far(not even Sensors, though I’m VC for it).So far I’ve seen three Pragyans, but this one was very special b'cos of the trust imposed on us by the Jk(jai kishen, the Overall coordinator, Pragyan).Me n ppl have always stuck to jk's words . The respect he has earned amongst us, his commitment towards his work makes him an inspiration to his juniors. The entire framework was drafted & committees were put up, with me in Venue Management, Organization. Though my team had three coords. Hari was busy with stalls & printing, Visshnu maams taking up photography manager post, I was the lone coordinator under Arun ,the manager of the team.

Speaking of Pragyan’08, there was array of events including astavigyan, Nitro, Foxhunt, Contraption, micro mouse, biz quiz ,circuitry, Anvesham, Ventura, byte code, Sanrachana, Dexter’s lab, many more. 10 new events were introduced in this year’s edition. The guest lectures by eminent personalities like GK, Subramanian Swami, Noam Chomsky, Trilochan Sastry n others illuminated us. The infotainment by Tony nash(I guess.. I’m rite..) Took us to a world of virtual reality n 3D. Though I was in organization, I participated in circuitry biz quiz.. Both flopped. The GL by Dr. Swami was the best, giving us the economical perspective. Unfortunately I didn’t even have an opportunity to attend Pengufest workshop, conducted by our pengu man, ‘silver prince’ suren. :P

My organizational skills has grew along with the pragyan. I headed a bunch of enthusiastic, understanding, energetic, comical juniors. Frankly speaking, I’m skeptical whether I would find such a team in the future. On my single SMS , they would be at my service. This Pragyan was a big mountain built using pack of cards meticulously, I’m happy that I was the footsteps of that event being a card at its basement. May the next team learn the shortcomings of this event, overcome it successfully.

As the logo of Pragyan says, “ Lets Celebrate Technology” , I celebrated this pragyan thoroughly and learnt new things. :-) pragyan go.. :-)

Travel by any auto in chennai,u'll find them use "Vootle solltiya? Saavugraaki!". Or the common lingo of college people, " Figura paathu frienda cut panradhu ". From Laadu labbaku dhas' petr to saroja saaman nikalo ,the lingo is quite unique .

Madras baashai is a mixture of tamil,telugu(gu-lu-te), english(peterr) , malayalam( figures). Its quite difficult to understand for the strangers, but its really close to oneself when it comes to speaking. Not surprisingly it had its say in Kollywood movies, especially with double meanings.

For high range peter guys, the chennai tamil speakers might seem to be a locals( porikkis) but these people are really kind hearted, i'm sure u don't need to be in suit n coat to be kind hearted. But in a problem, Daar than..Dharma adi.. No Jagaa vaangaradhu. U learn quite a lot of these during ur gully cricket childhood days, especially area matches. Not to forget the local kaalachifying & lollu of the natives. With modernisation, even girls 4m Aminjikarai speak as though they are from America. Pull anyone's socks in chennai, u'll find a dictionary of bad words as in other languages.

A really crucial year for me , especially from my career perspective...most decisive moments.Where am i headed next after college.
1.Is it gonna MBA thru CAT??
2.IS it MS thru GRE?? if so which area of specialisation...
3.Then the placement opporunities?? Tech or softy job..
Three unanswered questions of my life... i hope to answer them by next year.

->My cpc exams starting next week make me devoid of my time. I need to squeeze time for my CAT and GRE preparation.
->Also my wish to play topcoder regularly and get out of this grey color.
->Study well , to improve my CGPA to boost my career interests. :(
->The Sensors Symposium should not give me any problems. I guess it should help me in understanding people better and give the real picture about myself to others.
->More importantly to get a good summer project to aide my MS chances.
->Apart from these , my usuals like hockey,volleyball,movies,writing,cricket,counter strike,FIFA'08,read more books.
->My mess food should be eatable.

A basic post to crack a Windows XP system. So for people who already know this .. wow.. gr8.. you can try something better than this and tell me.. :P For newbies and non-windows users(if interested) , a small hack in windows( which i knew..)

Go to your command prompt in windows.. i.e Start->Run->type 'cmd'

you will have your command prompt.. then . .

type net user/users in the command prompt.

This lists all the users in the present system

type net user "user name" *

Give the name of the user defined in net users list .. of course, not quotes..lolz..

It would move on to next line and ask for a password.

The password typed cannot be seen .

It'll ask for password retype .

once typed... you have successfully changed the password of a XP system.. :)

Gone are those days , when a music composer composes his notes and gives it to the team of musicians and technicians . Even 50 violinists could be used in the past, all playing the same notes. Even if one of them makes a mistake in his pitch, there would be a retake from the beginning.Maestro Ilayaraja , Mozart AR Rahman, Melisai mannar MSV, kishore kumar were given high regards for their compositions and they considered music near godliness, for its divinity. That's why there were very little music composers and more percussionists.

Nowadays,anyone with a computer, with the required software can compose. what you need to know is the know-how to operate the software. So even the music which needs to be played by 50 percussionists can be now done with a single mouse click. That's why we can find the music losing its originality, we find similar tunes and beats. Thus has left the musical entertainers jobless.
ofcourse the music needs to be peppier and stylish to suit the modern trends. But not the same music and beats, like harris jeyaraj whose movies have similar background scores. Moreover people like yuvan, himesh reshammiya add some effects to their songs, some cries here n there with his voice.The same old beats,even singers. These not necessarily makes songs a hit.I presume , there can be a situation can compose songs even without the singer actually singing.He can store his voice in the computer and render it to his compositions. There are people like Deva n Harris(of course) , who just lift songs from the western bands .

Its time for the music composers to retrospect themselves and present to the audience with compositions, with originality , with live orchestration. Enough of this digital strangulation ...

welll.... so soon..within few days(jus three..lolz.. ) after my kite runner, here comes Anything for you, ma'am by tushar raheja . I,myself could finish this book of in a couple of days.

About the book, Its a nice little romantic entertainer. The story keeps you glued to the book. That's one reason that you finish this book so fast. We can find a tushar raheja in ever single teenage lover on earth.Why it needs to be a IITian's story?may be because tushar is an IITian. Also by the fact that people could buy this book as it is on the lines of 5 point someone.. marketing strategy. The book seems to be an desi version of euro trip. The script has undergone few changes to maintain its originality, but the screenplay is gr8. Tushar's dialogue's fabulous especially his oneliners . This guy can become someone like Prasoon Joshi( of RDB fame) adfilm maker,lyricist.

why should you read this book??
-> The simplicity in the story line. Also a teenage lovestory,every teenager will love this book.
->tushar's narration about her majesty,his senorita.. is amazing. for sure he's enjoyed in narrating these incidents.
-> for those who liked 5 point someone, a similar book on its lines.
->for all those lovers, do care to read the struggles of a fellow lover. comeon man just 100 rupess man.
-> The dialogues were really fabuluous,especially with shreya,about Mr.fate.

why should you not read this book.
-> For all who believe that tushar's trying to ape chetan bhagat,, but noway stands near him.
->Though the screenplay is taut, the flow sucks big time. Tushar has tried time travel in his narration. This makes the simple book a little complicated for the readers. This was unnecessary.
->The cover page sucks big time, something like a cartoon. even if it was plain, it would have been better.
->Too many coincidence may make the reader think that this cannot happen in real life.Its just a story man, accept them as it is.

The Kite Runner

Atlast i've finished this book , been reading this one for a long time.
Back to business, The Kite Runner by Khaled Hosseini is a great book. Initially people(i meant.. myself ) would feel a bit dry. The flow of the book is fabulous. The buildup to the second part is amazing. Khaled hosseini is an Afghan, but in America on a political asylum.

The characterization of each character is really gr8. No man is perfect, thats the base.The protagonist carries his guilt for all the wrong doings. The characters of Amir , Hassan,baba,Sohrab stand out. The right dosage of the sufferings in Afghan by the taliban , these could visualized. If you think of the story as real one, you can do only one thing... Just feel sorry for the sufferings of the Afghans. There are a lot of moral values attached to the doings of the character especially hassan.

overall, a commendable effort from the author. There's a movie adaptation of the book is on the cards(i'm not sure if it has released).For all those movie buffs who don't find time to read a book, have a look at the movie whenever it releases. :)

It was almost 12:30 am(past midnight.. for all those who don't know abt time..). we were back from manas'residence around 5:30 pm. we planned to sleep till dinner and have a NiteOut and finish the project work, as we had very little time to complete our work. Suren ,a workaholic(#define suren workaholic.. every one knows dis..)he got up around 8:30 pm and left for the lab.As yazhini didn't turn up for the lab,myself n hari had dinner and left for lab around 10:00pm . As usual i continued my work installation procedure , my home directory in linux got screwed and i had to reinstall. We, people got bored and couldn't proceed in our work. So we thought we could leave to hostel and do something there..

We started our way back...i asked,"wen shall we book the return tkts??". "we'll book it by 2morrow da" , replied suren.Then suren started about the proj,"i'll try to reason out why our sphere didn't fall.. why we had black OGRE screen" We were discussing these as we were walking. We could feel the chilllness even when we were at the stairs.We moved out of our block, we found two girls walking towards the block. As both of us were walking under the shadow of the tree, we couldn't even look at them properly.

"where are they goin at this time of the day",i asked.
"how the hell do i know??? shall i go and ask them",replied suren.
"yes, why not.. lets go....", i said instantly.
Myself n suren walked back to the block and followed the girls, leaving behind hari.
We followed them as we reached the 1st floor and they saw us. We were prepared for all these.
"where u goin at dis point of time??",i asked. Its was really strange to question a girl.
"we are going to satyam lab",said a tall,decent looking girl.
"usually girls don't do niteouts, unlike us",i replied. Both of them gave a nasty look.i readily accepted it and walked back.

They went ahead to their lab and we returned back to find hari. he was there behind a tree under the shadow. we couldn't recognise him under the dark.
Suren and me decided to damage the girls and become porrikki in college. I know its difficult to attain that status, but surely work hard..get some more bulbs and become a porikki( lol.. )

Most of the national English news channels' viewers are from southern states. At least that's what you can find out from the audience response to the polls and debates. But news channels which cover news for these states position themselves at Delhi or Mumbai, to cover their news. If I could recollect, the only time news channels covered remote places of TamilNadu in full extent, was when the devastating Tsunami struck the southern states.

Is the distance the main reason? Media covers news article on a case hearing in a supreme court or in a Delhi high court, rather than a thiruvananthapuram high court. This has turned the southies to turn to local language new channels for news on local issues. Just because your headquarters is in Delhi, you need not cover the local news of Delhi to the fullest extent. You have water logging problems, power shutdowns, political turmoil not only in Mumbai or Delhi alone, but in southern states too. The news channels cover the news of big B visiting a temple or SRK smoking or even promoting his new movie, but don’t give a damn about the news emanating from other cities.

What we are talking is not a rural-urban divide, but a disparity between north-south. Just because this is less acute than rural-urban, we cannot ignore these issues. Chennai, Hyderabad, Bangalore are becoming more cosmopolitan than they used to be. Despite the news channels allotting special slots and special segments for the southern state news, the coverage should well get beyond the metropolitan cities. There needs a delocalization of news channels if they want to call themselves a national news channel.

VC-with a purpose

How long will I be a team member?? When will I lead a team?? These questions keep haunting me over a long time for now… having gained apprenticeship under seniors for Sensors’ 07; I decided to contest for vice chairman for ICEA, Instrumentation control engineering students association. The seniors completely satisfied with my work for sensors & instantly approved. With meesai (vinayakk) getting unanimously elected for CICREP (placement rep), I surely thought there would be an election for VC post. I thought if someone like dev is contesting, then no use in me contesting. Obviously he would win due to the female votes. Just because I don’t get an opportunity, rather the need, I don’t talk to gals. May be to a few whom I know well… :( :(

When naveen (shamsu) briefed about the election, I won the confidence of shamsu & ab (balaji). All the class decisions involve them. So I moved onto the centre stage next to shamsu. An applause that I received from frenz…. That was heavenly…. I wouldn’t forget in my life…. Then came bharat (goyal)…this didn’t surprise me, as bharat worked equally for sensors. Every time I was the one who gave him the work… but no one contested against me other than him…hmmm... This heaved a sigh of relief…
I was confident to win …

The election began. People began to write ‘V’ 4 vinod, ‘B’ 4 bharat in a paper & expressed their franchise. The counting began… I took a lead from the initial stage. Many people casted bogus votes as they didn’t write their roll nos. bharat was the worsted affected with his. So I asked to count those bogus votes tooo…. Final tally 38 – 24... I won …. Yippee…

But general view about sensors…. Its chaat... an excuse to get an off from college. Nothing innovative…. For those people who gave me such a feedback, please be the changes which u wanna make… don’t jus keep repeating these age-old lines again.

The sensex touching 20,000 mark. Only second market after Hong Kong’s in South Asia. The market is booming....the FDIs pouring in... But the brand leading the Indian business contingent Reliance. Be it mukesh or anil... I heard that soon there would be an ad with this concept. “From the time a person gets up from his bed, till he gets back home in the night, all the products which he uses would in daily life is made by reliance…”well.. It symbolizes the reality.

The remarkable growth of reliance empire is triggered the Indian economical development. A man who didn’t even know to speak English, who just had his trading acquaintance in an oil company, started his business. Yes … Late Dhirubhai Ambani, the founder Reliance group. His dream has been fulfilled. Infact more than what he expected.
The bifurcation of his assets had further intensified its growth, with mukesh holding the big powered industries. There on …. The growth has been unprecedented. Mukesh at around $42billion closely catching up the toppers Bill Gates, Carlos Slim, Lakshmi Mittal. With his ratings increasing, there is an increase in share value, further increasing his worth. Be it mobiles, reliance product is there. Be it consumer goods, reliance product is topping the list. So when it’s good for the nation, why bother… he’s developing his industries… not only that, he’s taking the country economic growth with him.

Definitely its on a positive note. lets Look at this growth from a different perspective.
You have reliance products in all fields. It makes life difficult for the retail investors. Then for budding entrepreneurs, each move should profitable and innovative to fight the reliance empire. The market is getting dominated by reliance industries. Sooner it could be reliance who would be calling the national budget. The finance minister should chart out ways to allow reliance to grow, as economy is growing with it. If reliance succumbs to pressure, then the markets would tumble.

Whether their business strategy is right or wrong, the development of the country should be main issue. They should allow other entrepreneurs to grow and do not affect the common retail investors. What Indians are expecting is … India shining campaign to become a reality…

The barber didn't believe in the existence of god. "why do u say that" asked the customer. "well..if u step outside the shop..onto the street..there are so many abandoned children.. so many sick people wouldn't die.."the customer taught momentarily , and decided
not to get into an argument.. "let him finish his work.otherwise the barber would try his new skills on my head..alert.. "
after the work was over, the customer paid and left the shop.As he walked down the street,he saw a man with long robes,stringy n dirty hair,his untrimmed beard reached his chest. suddenly a ray of light seemed to have strike the customer. he turned back and went to the barber again..
he said," u know what??barbers don't exist.. ."surprised by this statement,barber replied.."I'm a barber.I just worked on you..""then there should be no man with long hair and untrimmed beard like this one.",exclaimed the customer.
"This happens only if people don't approach me"replied barber. the customer reaffirmed that:" people don't go to him and look to him for help.that's why this pain and suffering on earth."
well ll.. thats the whole point..
anyone who helps the needy is a god to them. A kind hearted,benevolent person who serves the poor is a god. Just in case if the TAJ MAHAL,the symbol of love is no more .. will the people stop loving each other???God is in people who do good to others.so be good..be god...

Dis time a bit of personal xperience rather than passion...

i decided to pen my days during 4th sem hols..

The wait was over..Goin home for hols is the best thing ever after semester xams.But definitely missing the fun @ coll.. friends,octa,sports,gym..everything i missed. After the hectic xams, i had an IPT @ the Epi chloro hydrin(ECH) plant,TamilNadu PetroProducts(TPL) ,manali,chennai. Well initially i'd asked for a proj, but due to lack of technical knowledge,they weren't in a position to give me a proj. So jus shifted it into an ipt. Great experience working with ppl there. Climbing all columns,tanks,checking up all faults, fire alarms,safety days. Lot of inputs from engineers who ask me not to come for a tech job like dis one..
But the rest of the days were a bit tough,atleast mentally. All my close pals were doin a proj. The very fact dat i'm vetti(idle) kept killing me. cos every third person is doin a proj. But still kept me occupied with driving,window shopping ,playing,sighting(<=>u know wat..)..

then the fun part..

the trip with our set guys to coortallam n kodaikanal. Never had so much fun in my life ever before like dis..ultimate trip from chennai to sivakasi hari's home. Shit wat fud man. I was surprised to see a lean,thin hari wen his family provided a royal food.. gully cricket , one pitch one hand ,near his house.. by nite we started to courtallam n reached by mid nite..we were spell bound by the scenic beauty.the water was froze us..then stayed in a home ther..i had a night out there tooo.. playing cards the whole nite.. we caught up with all other small falls n petty restaurants.we took bath in manimutharu falls,agathiyar falls..then @ bullet bala's grandma's place..i suspected the previous nite abt the possibilty of a film shooting in nearby locality..i saw the Anand cine creations van(caravan)..well it was true..we saw suriya, shooting for "vel"..thick moustache,gr8 built.. waving at us..then wat ..as usual police mama asked us to clear..
then the trip to kodaikanal began.. we stayed in Govt's Traveller's Bungalow, vathalagundu, footstep of kodai hills.. near visshnu ram's farm house..we took bath in pump set.next to the farm house poet kaviperarasu vairamuthu's kavignar illam..kutty was mocking at his lines from few movies..in a tea shop we met a man talking with visshnu's father..he introduced the man as vairamuthu's father to us.. oh shit.. wat simplicity.. an elderly man whose gandhian principle n advice..then up the hill to kodai..there we covered almost all places..kutty was puking every now n then.. deserved the title vanthivayan(person who keeps vomiting in tamil, gr8 one from bala). Every stop there ramji used to get something to eat, everyone making fun of him. Ulags posing with a tiger in a photo(we had fun in his childish attitude.) The weather was amazing. The visibilty was reduced to few metres.

We had some adventure tooo..we got down from end of pine forests & palnned to get to other end. Believe only we guys were there. in lonely forest with wild animals. it was shooting shot where rape scenes of heroines were picturised. Dat video which we took we won't forget in our life. We had a brief visit at kodai FM office ..checkout the entire process..simple man..nothing complicated.There also we went for Sivaji , night show. After kodaikanal to visshnu's periyakulam home for snacks.His family's attitude towards society is amazing. Yes, in politics .. DMDK..aka captain vijaykanth's party.then straight to college by mid night..

All these in a mini van for trip of 600 kms travel with food n accommadation for around 1100 bugs..isn't it cheap..
So now at Lapis82..in the wing dat my seniors ruled for 2 yrs ..Now baton passed on to us..lets hope the tradition continues.....

Tae-Kwon-Do

to begin with my fav topic....tae kwon do..
well .. ppl wud have seen the likes of Bruce Lee,Jackie Chan. I got my interest in them after seeing movies. I guess i was in 3rd standard , still in primary level .. their stunts,their ability to protect themselves. This attracted me more than anything else,but at the beginning didn't know dat i wud reach a level as on nov 2001..

for ppl who dunno abt Tae-Kwon-Do
Tae -> means foot or the art of kicking..
Kwon-> means wrist or the art of punching ..
do -> means the art or way..
so here it is..
TaeKwonDo is the art of using ur foot and fist ..

It started of with the white belt,by ex officio the first one . Since started at an early age, it was easy to get on with exercises and the body flexibility was there. One reaps wat he sows. Hard Work my first lesson. Soon my stature as a martial art student began rise.. White ,yellow,orange,green,blue,purple,brown II ,brown I, Black DAN I.. As the level increased the complexity also increased gradually with the introduction of kicks, kattas. Every belt exam was tested on four parts namely:exercises,kattas(poomse),sparring(kyorugi),demonstrations.

Exercises really bring ur heart out.Ur physical fitness is tested.15rounds of jogging(15*400 mts) ,then all exercises forfor almost 100-150 counts!!! My god after my black belt xam, i didn't turn up to school for 2 days due to ligament tear..mudiyale..lol..
Kattas are series of movements performed against imaginary opponents with or without weapons,in perfect textbook style.An air exhalation at a wrong count wud be wrong.
Spaaring,the fun part of taekwondo. U can take all the revenge for all things other opponents have done...fighting with opponent(s)...the best part wud be tournaments .. as u see in movies... amazing..
Demonstrations ..for all the xtras stuffs dat u get recognised for. Hand,chin,elbow,head,kick reaking bricks or tiles, using weapons like Nunchakus,sticks(aka silambu in tamil ) ,swords...U hit against the nonvital points of ur body. Otherwise , it cud prove even to be fatal...(aaall out ..).

well..wats spl on nov 2001...after 6 yrs of dedicated effort, i was elevated to the level of MASTER ..by awarding me a BLACK DAN I Belt....Also to become a qualified national level referee. Wat influence has taekwondo got on me as a person????TAEKWONDO helps me to differentiate between good n evil , and live in harmony with nature...it develops phsical n mental strength,flexibility,balance,stamina,lateral thinking,concentration,speed..it moulds u to adapt to difficult situations and see things with different perspective(vision)...
